Action Versus Listed Pitchers
In our latest guide to baseball betting, we will take a look at one of the most important factors in betting on a baseball game- the pitcher. If you notice, betting on baseball games will have you choose between listed pitchers, one pitcher, or an action pitcher. Whoever starts the game has a big effect on the outcome of a game. Which is why when it comes to baseball, sports betting is a bit different. We’ll be talking about the Action versus Listed Pitchers today.
When you read baseball picks, you will notice seeing these terms. Listed pitchers basically mean that the pitchers scheduled for the game will be starting the game. When this happens, then the bet will now have action, or be a valid bet. You also have one pitcher, where you pick a pitcher to start the game. Then, you have the action, which means that the bet will proceed, regardless of the pitcher starting the game.
Action Versus Listed Pitchers
Most of the time the listed pitchers will proceed to start the game. There will be exceptions, of course, which is unavoidable. Unless of course you opt for an Action bet. As mentioned earlier, this is a wager where the bet pushes through regardless of who starts the game. While you may think this is easier, you actually run the risk of getting a poor-performing pitcher, and end up losing the game and your bet.
When it comes to listed pitchers, these pitchers will have to open the game by throwing at least one pitch to open the game. If this is not pushing through, then your money is returned, and you lose nothing. There are more rules like this, depending on the wager you will be making. Which is why when it comes to betting on baseball, knowing who the starting pitchers are, and making sure that they do end up starting the games, is extremely important.
